Starmie Hunt – PokeMMO Christmas Event

✖

During the Christmas event, Starmie perches on top of PokeMMO's Christmas trees. When you find it, it runs off and the game only says "It's fled to somewhere in <zone>..": part of a region, such as Central Kanto or Eastern Sinnoh, never the town.

Each zone has several towns and routes, and each of them several trees, outdoors or inside buildings. Pick the zone below to see every place to search, with a screenshot marking each tree, and a box to tick off what you have already checked.

This page was made ahead of the 2026 Christmas event: the trees come from the community list of past editions. We will update it as soon as the event starts.

Already got your zone? Go to the Starmie finder.

How the Starmie hunt works

  1. Return 100 Lost Presents to Santa: this unlocks the Starmie hunt (and the Alpha Delibird encounter).
  2. The first Starmie sits on top of the tree in Vermilion City. Talk to it: "Oh! Starmie ran away!", then "It's fled to somewhere in <zone>..".
  3. Pick that region and zone in the finder below, then search every tree on the list, outdoors and inside buildings, on every floor.
  4. Each Starmie you find may drop an item, then runs to a new zone. The quest tracker counts "x/y Starmie found".
  5. For the last one, no tree fits: "Maybe if you showed it something which looks like a tree..?". Put a Sudowoodo in your party and talk to it.

Red arrow: go inside this building, the tree is in there. Check every floor.

Red circle: an outdoor tree, right at that spot.

Yellow box: a note on the place (another colour on the screenshot, a house closed some days…).

Starmie hunt tips
  • Check every floor: a tree can be on the top floor of a department store or an office building, as in Jubilife City.
  • Starmie never leaves the zone it names. If you ticked everything and did not find it, start again with the buildings that have several floors and the houses at the end of routes.
  • Some buildings only open on certain days, such as the top-left house at the Lake of Rage (closed on Wednesdays, in-game day).
  • The last Starmie needs a Sudowoodo in your party: get one ready before you reach the end of the quest.
  • Click a screenshot to enlarge it: each building with a tree is marked with an arrow, each outdoor tree with a circle.
FAQ

Starmie hunt: frequently asked questions

How do you unlock the Starmie hunt in PokeMMO?

Return 100 Lost Presents to Santa during the Christmas event. This unlocks the Starmie hunt and the Alpha Delibird encounter. The first Starmie is on top of the tree in Vermilion City.

Where is Starmie?

It differs for every player. After each Starmie, the game names a zone ("It's fled to somewhere in Central Kanto.."). Pick that zone in the finder: it is on one of the trees in the towns and routes listed, outdoors or inside a building.

Starmie is on none of the trees, what now?

If it is the last one, the game says no tree seems to fit: you need a Sudowoodo in your party, and Starmie climbs onto it. Otherwise, check again the floors of large buildings and the lone houses on the zone's routes: those are the trees players miss most.

What do you get for finishing the Starmie hunt?

In 2025, completing the hunt gave Starmie-themed outfits: the Star Bodysuit, Star Backpiece and Star Cone Hat. Players report that you can then keep looking for Staryu and Alpha Starmie encounters.

Do the trees change every year?

The list on this page comes from past editions. Christmas decorations can move from one year to the next: we check it as soon as the 2026 event starts.
